The Robots
I Like red tape.
They took my wheels.
Our robot's made up of many components. If you look at the robot you will notice some parts you are unable to buy on the internet. well that's because we custom made them in order to create a custom robot. We like to use a 3D printer to help print parts you wouldn't be able to find at a store. The robot is cable of picking up Samples as well as Specimen which are scoring elements used to help our team gain points. To pick up samples and specimen we use a claw but the way we score them is differently. for the samples we use the claw to grab than place the sample into the bucket found on the back of the robot. the bucket which is attacked to a viper slide than raises up and drops the sample to the high basket. For specimen the specimen stay in the claw and are hooked on using the arms strength.
Are programming team is helping us program a successful and well put together autonomous to help are robot score more points. They are also going to help make the drive teams job a lot easier by programming the robot to place the sample into the bucket located on the back of the robot instead of having the driver do it. They are now fixing the servos on the robot, the main one being the one attached to the claw. One of the issues we are running into is the claw becoming week after 7 seconds of being in the same position.
The design team is helping us by modeling a new intake system that will make obtaining points less time consuming and more productive. Build team is repairing any issues the robot is running into currently as well as finding new ways to improve the robots. They are also going to add a new motor to the viper slide to make it go a little faster. The teams number located on both sides of the robot is also going to be repaired. The magnets attached to the 3d printed hub mount keeps pealing off so we will be gluing it to make sure it never escapes.
